What we do most

Specialists in the work that keeps your home safe and ready for what’s next

WiseCo handles most residential electrical work, with deep experience in panels, EV charging and the problems other people haven’t been able to solve.

Starting prices apply to straightforward installations and come from our pricing page. Your quote is confirmed before work starts.

Insurance-flagged panels

Did your insurer flag your electrical panel?

California insurers are requiring homeowners to replace panels with a history of safety problems before they will write or renew a policy. It usually comes up at application or renewal, often with a deadline attached.

WiseCo replaces these panels with new equipment, pulls the permits and gets the work inspected and approved, which is exactly what insurers ask for. Not sure if your panel is on the list? Byron can inspect it ahead of time.

Panel brands insurers flag

  • Zinsco
  • Federal Pacific (FPE)
  • Challenger
  • Pushmatic
  • Bulldog

Also commonly flagged

  • Fuse boxes installed before 1990
  • Panels more than 40 years old

Who you’ll work with

Your first call goes to Byron. So does your job.

Byron Wise started doing electrical work at 16, beside his father, an electrical contractor in Arizona, during summers and part-time through college. He went on to teach high school math and later worked as a web developer, always doing electrical work on the side.

After moving to Sacramento in 2000, he got his California contractor’s license in 2003 and started WiseCo. That’s about 40 years of hands-on experience, and more than 20 years running his own shop.

There’s no sales team and no hand-off. Byron answers the phone, looks at your photos, gives you the price and does the work himself. Customers often say that’s what earned their trust.

Questions

Straight answers before you call

Still wondering about something? Text Byron. You’ll get a real answer from the person doing the work.

Text a question
Will I talk to the electrician who does the work?

Yes. Byron Wise owns WiseCo and does every job himself, occasionally with one long-time helper. He answers most calls directly; if he’s on a job, leave a voicemail or send a text and he’ll get back to you.

Can you give me a price from photos?

Often, yes. Photos of your electrical panel, the work area and the path between them may be enough for a quote or a reliable price range. Text them to (916) 752-4303 with a short description.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. WiseCo quotes by the job, so you know the complete price before work begins. If something unexpected turns up, Byron stops, explains it and gets your approval before doing any additional work.

My insurance company says I need a new panel. Which panels are affected?

Insurers commonly flag Zinsco, Federal Pacific, Challenger, Pushmatic and Bulldog panels, fuse boxes installed before 1990, and panels more than 40 years old. WiseCo replaces them with permits secured and the work inspected and approved. Requirements vary by insurer, so check your notice, and Byron can inspect your panel ahead of time if you’re unsure.

Do you offer financing or help with SMUD rebates?

Yes. Financing is available through Wisetack for qualifying customers. WiseCo is a member of the SMUD Contractor Network and can help you find and apply for rebates that fit your project.

What are your hours? Do you take urgent calls?

Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with Saturdays by appointment. WiseCo doesn’t run an after-hours emergency service, but will generally take same-day urgent work when the schedule allows.

Is your work guaranteed?

Yes. WiseCo guarantees parts and labor for one year.
